My Approach

Life is a journey.   It can be joyful, sad, messy, and complicated (sometimes all at the same time!) .  My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, supportive space for you to explore all of these aspects of your life.  I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, trauma, stress, life transitions, and problems with self-esteem.

My therapeutic approach uses evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.   I also incorporate information about the growing science related to happiness and habit formation.  While we will spend some time reviewing your past, the focus of the treatment will be on the present and the future.

My belief is that effective therapy is  goal directed.  Success is achieved when one has developed the skills needed to graduate from therapy and feel confident to effectively use these skills outside of the therapy office.

My hope is that our work together will help you discover the path that leads to your best, most fulfilling, and authentic life.   It is an honor and privilege to share that journey with my clients.
